About
Belgian-born and Zurich-based, Guido is a seasoned business issue and sustainability advisor who has worked with a cross-section of leading multinationals and organisations. He combines a deep understanding of the international corporate environment with a proven ability to design and deliver complex, multi-stakeholder issue management solutions. Having worked around the globe, Guido is finely attuned to the needs of different cultures throughout the world.
Before opening his own office in 2013, Guido was a Global Business Sustainability Advisor at The Dow Chemical Company, being responsible for business issues management, coaching and training businesses and functions to appropriately integrate issues and opportunities such as sustainability. An essential aspect of this job was advising senior business and corporate management on how to more effectively deal with their issue management responsibility.
Building, maintaining and driving effective networks, platforms, associations and multi-stakeholders groups is a crucial and critical component of successful issue management execution and implementation. Guido’s diplomatic style not only makes this look natural but, additionally, directly enhances the overall reputation and credibility of a corporation.
In 2014, Guido co-founded UetlibergPartners GmbH, a team of advisors specialised in translating sustainability opportunities into business value propositions.
At the beginning of his career, Guido was active in sales, marketing and business development for two international petrochemical corporations.
Guido holds a MBA in business marketing from the Kellogg University in Chicago following his commercial and chemical engineering degrees from universities in Belgium. He speaks four languages (Dutch, French, English and German) and during his career, Guido has followed external business courses in the areas such as marketing, leadership and multicultural business management at international business schools including Insead, IMD and Kellogg, while developing his own programme of business issues and sustainability management with leading thinkers in these areas.
